OurTeam
We founded Bark in 2017 to apply our expertise to important movements — the shifts in business, society, and politics we believe are necessary to realize the future we want to see. That’s what drives us and defines our mission.
We’re humbled to be operating an agency that serves impact organizations throughout the world and employs incredible strategists in our beloved Lawrence, Kansas. Our amplification of our clients’ initiatives is demonstrably creating a better world. We can’t imagine a sweeter way to make a living.

What is your favorite quote?
“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”

What's your favorite type of project to work on and why?
I love exploring what drives people’s passions, then telling compelling stories to connect our clients’ work with those passions. I enjoy distilling seemingly disparate messages and needs into an overarching strategy that speaks to the audience and connects the work our clients do with the things their audience cares about. My goal is to use my experience and expertise in communications to uplift the people and organizations working to create a better world.
What do you enjoy doing when you're not at work?
Spending time with my family, friends, and dog; yoga and fitness; food and wine; reading great fiction; art, travel, and culture; new people and new experiences; sunshine and swimming pools.
JenniferKongs
she/her Founding PartnerJennifer Kongs
Jennifer spent a decade leading the editorial processes for national magazines. She was managing editor of Mother Earth News magazine, helping take the 30-year-old brand to record levels of print and digital readership. She was tapped to execute the editorial vision for a small media startup about conscientious businesses founded in conjunction with the nonprofit B Lab, and has since lent her skills to multiple mission-driven clients. While at Bark, she has worked on large campaigns, from development to execution, for impact investing firms and events, regenerative agriculture and climate change nonprofits, and movements for economic reform.
What's your favorite type of project to work on and why?
The content and creative process is all exciting to me, but I most enjoy taking a set of goals and ideas and turning it into an organized set of deliverables and processes to achieve the desired outcomes. Mission- and goal-aligned project management is where I thrive.
What is your favorite quote?
A poem, not a quote 🙂
The Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief.
I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light.
For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
— Wendell Berry

Lindsey came to Bark with extensive experience in helping national brands and publications hone their voices and grow their digital audiences. Through her technical assessments and creative initiatives, Lindsey has helped her clients sell out events, rapidly grow their email audiences, substantially increase their web traffic, and engage their communities on a deeper, more human level.
What's your favorite type of project to work on?
While I love the technical stuff, my favorite projects have been those that allow me to harness my creativity while diving deep into a specific topic — think topical, targeted email series, and storytelling downloadables. The opportunity to be clever and a little bit edgy makes me excited, and I also, of course, love tracking the data tied to these projects.
